Ah, Corfu in the summer - it's truly a magical experience that's hard to put into words. The island is alive with the sounds of laughter, music, and the lapping waves of the Ionian Sea. The air is warm and the sun is shining, making it the perfect destination for a summer holiday. There's something for everyone on this enchanting island. For the sun worshippers, there are plenty of beautiful beaches to choose from, each with its own unique charm. From the secluded coves of Porto Timoni to the lively party scene at Kavos, there's a beach for every mood.
DO visit the Achilleion Palace, the stunning former summer residence of Empress Elizabeth of Austria and Kaiser Wilhelm II.
DO wander through the lush gardens surrounding the palace, which are filled with statues, fountains, and breathtaking views.
DO take a stroll through the picturesque village and admire the charming houses and narrow streets.
DO learn about the history and culture of the area by visiting the Achilleio Folklore Museum.
DON'T disrespect the palace or its grounds by littering, touching the exhibits, or damaging any property.
DO swim in the nearby beaches without taking safety precautions, as the currents can be strong and dangerous.
DON'T take any souvenirs or artefacts from the village or the palace without permission. Be careful, because most of them are fragile.
DON'T wear inappropriate clothing while visiting the palace or any other religious sites in the village.
